Shamrock Shindig Details

Waterfront Partnership is looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2nd Annual Shamrock Shindig Sunday, March 10 from 11am to 2pm! The event will take place at Pierce’s Park, located on Pier 5 – adjacent to the Pier 5 Hotel

Getting to Pierce’s Park– If you live in Federal Hill, Ridgley’s Delight, Fells Point, Little Italy, Harbor East, etc. we highly recommend walking! The weather forecast looks great and it is an enjoyable walk. Please remember that there will be major road closures due to the parade (see attached). If you choose to drive, we recommend parking in the lot located at 400 South Central Ave (corner of Bank and Central across the street from Heavy Seas Ale House) as it is $3 for the entire day. There is also another $3 lot at 805 South Caroline Street in Fells Point. Pierce’s Park is also close to the garages in Harbor East - the garages located at 650 South Exeter Street (Maryland Athletic Club/ Landmark Theatres/ Starbucks) and 1001 Fleet Street (Whole Foods Market) are both

$14 for up to 12 hours.

Check-In– There will be tables set up near the Columbus Center which is a glass building located on the park. There will be a will call table, Certifikid table, livingsocial table, and ticket sales table. Please have your ID ready to expedite the process. You DO NOT NEED TO PRINT OUT YOUR TICKETS/ CONFIRMATION/ RECEIPT. We will have a list onsite. If you have friends who did not purchase wristbands/ kids passes we will be selling at the event while supplies last. We do strongly suggest that people purchase passes in advance https://www.wepay.com/events/shamrock-shindig.

Charm City Circulator –Please visit this link for revised route and stop closers  http://www.charmcitycirculator.com/news/2013/mar/st-patricks-day-parade-revised-routes-be-run

Food -There will be four food trucks onsite – Gypsy Queen, Chicken and Waffles, Busia’s Kitchen and Flavor Cupcakery. Lots of great food to choose from! No outside food will be allowed at the event.

Beverages -We will also have three main bars which will be serving beer, wine, mixed drinks, bottled water and juice. No outside beverages will be allowed at the event.

ATM –We are unable to accept credit cards onsite. We recommend bringing cash to the event. There is an ATM in the lobby of the Pier 5 Hotel as a back-up option.

Restrooms –There will be seven portable toilets onsite. Please note that the Pier 5 Hotel’s restrooms will be locked to non-hotel guests.

Strollers -Due to the number of attendees expected to attend, strollers will NOT be allowed on the grass. However, we will have a stroller valet area managed by Waterfront Partnership Guides. We recommend bringing a baby carrier for babies/younger toddlers.

The 58th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade –The parade will kick-off at 2 PM from the Washington Monument, travel down North Charles Street and then continue on to Pratt Street. Pierce’s Park is just a block and a half away from the end of the parade. Shamrock Shindig will end at 2pm to give you plenty of time to grab a spot for the parade. Last year my family and I watched the parade from Pratt Street (in front of Panera Bread) and it was a great spot! Some parents had small chairs for their kids, although most of the kids were up and dancing most of the time. For parade details, please visit www.irishparade.net.

We hope this information is helpful. We are looking forward to our first event in 2013! A big thank you to our sponsors Natty Boh and Guinness.
