Waterfront Partnership Services

Services provided by the Waterfront Partnership are all aimed at making the visitor experience along the waterfront more enjoyable, entertaining and educational!

Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore - Colorful Flowers along the waterfrontLush and Colorful
To make sure the open spaces along the waterfront are filled with colorful flowers and grass areas are neatly mowed and inviting for families to sit on while they enjoy the water views, the Waterfront Partnership hired Ruppert Nurseries a regional landscape management company.

Working five days a week along the promenade, Ruppert’s crew plants seasonal flowers, hangs flower filled baskets on poles, mows the grass and mulches and waters the flower beds – all to keep the waterfront area looking lush and colorful all year round.

Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore - Clean and Beautiful StreetscapeSparkling Clean
Making doubly sure that the waterfront promenade is clean of any debris or litter, the Waterfront Partnership has hired Living Classroom’s Project Serve team to supplement city maintenance crews.

Project Serve dedicates 10 workers in summer months and 4 workers in winter months to sweep the promenade, remove graffiti, paint poles and generally ‘sweat the details’ that otherwise might fall between the cracks.

Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore - Guides help tourists find points of interestVisitor Services
New visitors to the Waterfront are often looking for guidance in how to get to attractions they want to visit, learn where to park or where to locate a public restroom. To make the waterfront area friendly and easy to enjoy, during the summer months the Waterfront Partnership hires Waterfront Guides to respond to questions and overall provide a friendly face and watchful eye over the waterfront.

Events and Marketing
In addition to attracting visitors from around the region and around the world, Waterfront Partnership wants to make sure that local residents visit their Harbor regularly.

To provide reasons for our local Baltimore area residents to return again and again, the Waterfront Partnership regularly schedules exciting and free family fun activities along the waterfront promenade. Previous year activities included concerts with Milkshake, Pirates for Sail and a Harbor Harvest Festival produced in partnership with the Downtown Family Alliance.

The Waterfront Wiggle features free kids' concerts and crafts activities provided by local museums and organizations. Activity carts are also stationed during the summer weekends outside of the Aquarium and near the Science Center.  Filled with bubbles, coloring pages, balls, jump ropes and picnic blankets they set the stage for impromptu
picnics along the waterfront.   Teaming with local organizations, the
Waterfront Partnership continues to add free classes, festivals and weekend events along the waterfront.

The Waterfront Partnership also promotes and highlights upcoming waterfront events through its public relations and by placing ads in local publications.
