We are kicking off the 2019 Docs from the Docks free, environmental documentary film series, on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 7:00 p.m. with a screening of “The Human Element.”
On Thursday, Feb. 21, the series will continue with “Trash Dance,”an award-winning documentary fromAndrew Garrison that follows choreographer Allison Orr as she rides along with Austin sanitation workers on their daily routes to observe and later convince them to perform a most unlikely spectacle.
The series will conclude on Thursday, Mar. 21 with a screening of “Saving Sea Turtles: Preventing Extinction,” which follows the natural history and unprecedented endangerment of Kemp’s Ridleys, a near-extinct species of sea turtles.
Each event will include a panel discussion following the screening. MOM’s Organic Market will provide organic snacks to enjoy during each film.
Docs from the Docks was launched in 2017 by Healthy Harbor and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in partnership with Brown Advisory. The screenings are hosted at Brown Advisory’s 901 S. Bond Street location.
