Rash Field redevelopment, now underway, gets $1 million private boost

(October 12, 2020) – A $1 million gift from Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. toward the overhaul of Rash Field has sparked a push to name the modern pavilion now in the works there after the energy company.

An ordinance introduced Oct. 5 in the City Council would establish the BGE Pavilion and BGE Nature Park at the Inner Harbor landmark that is in the midst of a long-awaited redo this fall. The naming rights will be discussed in a public hearing before the council’s Judiciary Committee that has not been scheduled yet.

The move is the latest step in the $17 million renewal of the nearly 8-acre Rash Field by the nonprofit Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.
