RASH FIELD PARK
NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION!
RASH FIELD PARK has been planned as a safe and central place for families city-wide, supporting education & ecology, health & wellness, recreation & play, and programming & entertainment.
Ready, set, PLAY! The newest addition to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is just around the corner. Rash Field Park, opening late 2021, will welcome families from across the city for fun, education and wonder. Clamber up a pair 35-foot wooden towers to enjoy an exclusive skyline view in the Adventure Park. Disappear from the city into a land of native birds and flowers in the Nature Park. Show off your moves in the heart of the Inner Harbor at Jake’s Skatepark. Sample fresh, local cuisine or admire a sunset with a glass of vino by the Pavilion. There’s always more to explore at Rash Field Park.
The redesign of Rash Field at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor includes a skatepark, which will be named after Jake Owen, a five-year-old South Baltimore boy, who was killed by a cell phone distracted driver in 2011. The skate park is a way to celebrate Jake’s life, who was an avid skater and loved to play all sports. Help us build Jake’s Skatepark and provide a dedicated space for the skate boarding community that will be accessible for skaters of all ages and abilities.
The Park will be built in two phases. Phase I will include two playground areas – a nature park and an adventure park, a skatepark, a shade lawn and a pavilion featuring a waterfront cafe and a green roof overlook. Phase II will create a new beach experience for families and beach volleyball players, transform the bleachers into ambling walking and jogging paths, establish butterfly and bird labs, build new youth sports fields and create a game lawn. Phase I broke ground in January and will open by late 2021. Phase II construction will start after Phase I. For more information, see the plan or visit our FAQs.
