Waterfront Wellness is a series designed to make health and wellness easy for our local community. Medifast and its community of OPTAVIA coaches, have a shared mission to offer the world lifelong transformation, one healthy habit at a time. This mission will be brought to life through this summer series, and supports a healthier future in our neighborhoods and the harbor. Together, Medifast and Waterfront Partnership hope to ignite healthy habits within our community!

Free fitness classes are offered May – September at West Shore Park located at 401 Light St., Baltimore next to the Baltimore Visitor Center. Parking isn’t available on-site but there is street parking on Key Highway and many parking garages located around the Inner Harbor. Stay tuned as our 2020 season is announced! The below classes are from our 2019 season and offer a sampling of the types of classes our program may offer.

Saturday Mornings

Yoga with Brick Bodies

Saturday | 7AM | Brick Bodies

Start your Saturday with with the centering and balancing practice of yoga. Release the stress of the week and begin your weekend refreshed with postures that will prepare you to both seize the day, and relax. Meet us at on the mat at 7am. Namaste.

Bootcamp with XPF

Saturday | 8AM | XPF

Bootcamp is designed to give you an intense full body workout in the shortest time possible. Implementing the progressive, personal style of the XPF system; you’ll be training using athletic drills, body weight exercises, plyometrics, and much more. Expect to lose weight, improve your overall fitness level and have fun!


Saturday | 9AM | XPF

Dance2Fitness is not a chore or punishment. It feels like you’re dancing with your friends at a party. 55 min of great music & crazy energy, combining dance & exercise moves PACKED into a FUN workout!

Sunday Mornings

Vinyasa All Levels Yoga with Yogaworks

Join Baltimore’s Best Yoga Studio for an all-levels flowing class in the sun! Whether you’re a first-timer or experienced yogi, this class will help you build strength, gain flexibility, improve your breathing, and melt away stress. You will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!

Family Yoga with Yogaworks

Sunday | 9AM | Yogaworks

Yoga is fun for the whole family! Kids of all ages are welcome in this beginner class that promotes relaxation & mindfulness, strengthens family bonds, and makes exercise fun! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Family Friendly Bootcamp with Federal Hill Fitness

Sunday | 10AM | Federal Hill Fitness

Federal Hill Fitness trainer Laura Gaba and her adorable 8 yr old daughter Ateah will lead this all ages family bootcamp class. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate, but also adults without kids are welcome! The class focuses on fun and fitness for the whole family.

Monday Nights

Line Dance to Fitness with Spirit Feet

Monday | 6PM | Spirit Feet

A Total Body Wellness exercise class designed to  serve the unique “You” for overall health enrichment.

Tuesday Nights

Bootcamp by Federal Hill Fitness

Tuesday | 6PM | Federal Hill Fitness

Led by six time BEST of Baltimore trainer, Guy Cragwell, this HiiT (High Intensity Interval Training) Bootcamp class mixes up cardio moves with active rest periods. No equipment is used, just body weight. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels, but participants with physical limitations should talk with the instructor prior to class so he is aware and can offer modifications along the way.

Sports drinks can be beneficial after an intense workout; however, they shouldn’t be your go to after a workout. Although they replenish electrolytes, they are filled with sugar!
It is important to replenish your muscles after working out. Consider eating a banana, apple, or a meal replacement after a workout to treat your muscles right!
