  • When the Stay True To Yourself brand was started, our goal was to empower individuals to value themselves no matter their circumstances and help encourage high self-esteem. But when we created the subsidiary Stay True My HBCU brand, we envisioned showcasing black excellence to prospective students and their families; encompassing both the academic and social aspects of the HBCU experience through apparel to help bring awareness to the HBCU cultural experience and highlighting how these institutions continue helped bridge the gap between education and community for students, families and alumni.”

Historically black colleges and universities are still as important to the African- American community since their creation, and we want to ensure that students and families know. In a time where African-Americans continue to strive for excellence through our accomplishments and perseverance, we understand the importance of education and community. HBCUs continue to provide meaningful experiences to students in and outside of the classroom, and are responsible for 25% of African-American STEM graduates in the nation, while helping build up our community through higher education.
