Waterfront Partnership + Living Classrooms

Born out of the need to tackle the cleanliness and fulfill our commitment to partnering with others to provide workforce training, Waterfront Partnership and Living Classrooms joined forces to provide opportunities for men and women looking to get back on their feet through Living Classroom’s Second Chance Program (now called Project SERVE). Project SERVE is a job training program that works with incarcerated and ex—offenders to provide on-the-job training and marketable skills while they revitalize Baltimore neighborhoods.

WPB Clean Team members provided through Project SERVE participate in a six month on-the-job training program, helping members learn soft skills (communication, responsibility, teamwork, etc.) and hard skills (industrial cleaning, machine operation, etc.) that help prepare them for full time employment once the program is complete.

Since our partnership began in 2007, the program has worked with over 500 team members with over 50% of participants graduating on to full time employment!
