Wildlife Gardening: Birds & Blooms Workshop Recap

We had so much fun getting outside last weekend as we kicked off the Wildlife Gardening season with our Birding & Backyard Blooms workshop! We enjoyed a fun-filled morning of bird watching, learning about bird-friendly plants, and even a visit from Carrie Murray Nature Center‘s own Uncle Steve the turkey!

Wildlife experts Sharon Dorsey, Eric Fishel from Bird of Urban Baltimore, and our Waterfront Partnership team led talks and hands-on activities to our group of gardeners. Throughout the morning the group explored local bird identification ,the science behind bird banding, how to garden with native wildlife in mind, and ended the day relaxing on hammocks and blankets, taking in the waterfront views.

Our Wildlife Gardening workshops are a fun, engaging way to connect our community to the native wildlife that is all around us on the waterfront.

Join us for our next free workshop “Scales and Tales” on July 19th!
