After a triumphant tour of the Great Lakes, PRIDE OF BALTIMORE II is sailing back into Charm City—and Baltimore is rolling out a welcome like never before.
This Friday, September 19, join us for a Homecoming Sail & FIRST-EVER Historic Swimmers Welcome- a symbolic “splash” into the harbor’s rich maritime legacy. As PRIDE II comes into view at the Fells Point location, a group of distinguished Baltimoreans will dive into the water and swim out to greet her, marking a moment that’s both historic & personal.
Swimmers include:
Katie Pumphrey, internationally acclaimed long-distance swimmer & Sports Ambassador for Swimmable Cities
Senate President Bill Ferguson, representing Maryland’s leadership & pride
Johns W. Hopkins, Executive Director of Baltimore Heritage, & well-known local historian.
The tentative schedule:
12 noon-Key Bridge/Fort Armistead
12:30 p.m.- Fort McHenry
12:45 p.m.- Broadway Pier Fells Point
1:00 p.m.- Inner Harbor
1:15 p.m. Broadway Pier Fells Point
