Fresh Updates on Inner Harbor Shade Stations
Volunteers from PNC planted native plants at the pergolas to add greenery and extra shade
We’re thrilled to share some fantastic updates from the Inner Harbor Amphitheater as summer 2025 kicks off! It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we introduced our Shade Stations in collaboration with PNC Bank. These vibrant pockets of greenery have become a beloved oasis for our community, and we are excited to announce that we're expanding this initiative!
On June 4th, we welcomed even more enhancements to our little paradise. With the help of dedicated volunteers from PNC Bank and the expertise of Herring Run Nursery, we have added additional seating, more shade structures, stunning pavement artwork that highlights native species, and over a hundred new native plants, including beautiful Serviceberry trees and bay grasses.
These improvements not only enhance the aesthetic of our waterfront but also work towards maintaining a sustainable environment through native landscaping methods known as bayscaping. Our goal? To create a vibrant, green space where visitors can truly relax, enjoy nature, and immerse themselves in the lively performances at the amphitheater.
In this photo gallery, we invite you to explore the incredible transformations made possible with the support of our volunteers and partners. From the freshly planted greenery to the new seating arrangements, every snapshot encapsulates the essence of community effort and environmental stewardship.
Join us in celebrating these changes and stop by to enjoy the refreshed Shade Stations during your next visit to the Inner Harbor!
