Celebrate MLK Day 2026 in Baltimore
Martin Luther King Day is on Monday, January 19th
On this day we honor the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as he bravely led protests and marches, travelled across the United States to preach and support racial equality in areas of injustice, and inspired activism with his “I Have A Dream” speech. Dr. King was a pivotal player in the fight for civil rights throughout the 1950s and 60s in America, and we honor his commitment on this day with parades and community events that continue to uplift Dr. King’s message of racial equality for all.

Extended Hours & Special Events
Port Discovery Children’s Museum: Monday, Jan 19th 9AM-5PM
Port Discovery will be extending their hours on MLK Day! Explore three floors filled with exhibits and join in on playful learning activities held throughout the day by our Learning & Visitor Experience Team.
Maryland Science Center: Monday, Jan 19th 10AM-4PM
Spend your MLK Day holiday exploring the world of science! The Maryland Science Center will be open for special hours to keep the fun going on this long weekend.
End of Season Party at the Inner Harbor Ice Rink: Monday, Jan 19th 12PM-3PM
We’re ending the 2025-2026 Ice Rink season with a bang! Come out to skate, dance, and celebrate MLK Day on the ice from 12pm to 3pm for a fun end of season party. The rink will also be open for normal hours from 12PM-10PM. Don’t miss your last day to skate!
