Discovery Quest Launches During Waterfront Week!

Your new summer quest has arrived! Port Discovery is leading the charge on this year’s Discovery Quest, a new initiative designed for kids and families to explore Baltimore’s treasure trove of museums, cultural spaces, and places for learning. With Discovery Quest, families are invited to choose their own adventure and start at any of the participating institutions- from the National Aquarium to the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum- and follow that spark of curiosity wherever it takes them!

Along the way, you’ll learn, earn prizes, and most importantly, have fun. So what are you waiting for? The perfect time to start is now! Begin your quest during our upcoming Waterfront Week, June 5th-June 14th, and come visit the participating waterfront institutions while the harbor is at its liveliest!

What is Discovery Quest?

Discovery Quest is a new initiative running from June 1, 2026-December 31, 2026 designed to encourage kids and families to explore Baltimore’s museums, art galleries, cultural institutions, and other places of learning.

How do I participate?

To participate in Discovery Quest, start your journey at any of the 14 participating locations and pick up a Discovery Quest passport booklet.

With your Discovery Quest passport, visit any of the participating locations from now through December 31st and complete the Quest activity at each location.

Get your passport stamped at each location.

Reach milestones along the way to earn four collectible charms.

Once you have visited all 14 locations and earned 4 charms, collect a surprise prize from Port Discovery!

Side Quest: Visit during Waterfront Week, June 5th-June 14th 2026

With so many of the 14 participating locations being on or around the waterfront, Waterfront Week is the perfect time to start your quest! Waterfront Week is a 10-day event series across the waterfront neighborhoods featuring more than 60 events, from free live music to kayak tours to outdoor fitness classes. There will be tons to see and do with something every day!

Port Discovery’s official Discovery Quest Block Party is happening on the first day of Waterfront Week, Friday, June 5th.
