Keep Up With the Buzz on Baltimore’s Waterfront!
Whether you live a few steps from the waterfront or take the occasional trip to visit, Harbor Weekly is your source for local news, community events, historical insights, food & wine recommendations, and neighborhood updates.
Come meet the people, see the establishments, and find out about the happenings that make the waterfront the place to be. Articles will release on The Harbor Beat blog each week covering the waterfront districts of Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Harbor Point, and Harbor East (and sometimes our next-door neighborhoods too!)
Wildlife Gardening: Birds & Blooms Workshop Recap
We had so much fun kicking off the Wildlife Gardening season last month with a fun-filled morning of bird watching, learning about bird-friendly plants, and even a visit from Uncle Steve the turkey! Led by local wildlife experts Sharon Dorsey, Eric Fishel, and our Waterfront Partnership team, this hands-on workshop was a fun, engaging way to connect the community to the native wildlife that is all around us on the waterfront.
What’s New At Rash Field Park! July Construction Update
Phase II has officially begun at Rash Field Park! Last month we began laying the groundwork for the upcoming demolition of the hardscape throughout the park, which will be the first noticeable signs of progress in these early stages. We’re excited to see this site begin to transform over the next year!
Construction has Begun on Phase II of Rash Field Park!
We’re excited to announce that construction has started on Phase II of Rash Field Park! The next phase of Rash Field Park will bring more recreational and green space to the Inner Harbor, with the addition of native gardens, beach volleyball and pickle ball courts, and a sprawling lawn. Follow along as we document the park's transformation from beginning to end.
Breaking Ground on Rash Field Park Phase II
On April 10, 2025 we celebrated the official groundbreaking of Phase II of Rash Field Park with our entire community! We are so happy to move forward with this project as Waterfront Partnership continues to celebrate our 20th anniversary year in 2025, and look forward to all the activations we'll be able to bring to the Inner Harbor with the park's new features.
Jake’s Day 2025
It was a perfect Saturday for shredding at the skatepark! This past weekend we hosted our annual Jake’s Day skating event at Jake’s Skate Park. Over 150 kids came to learn to skate from the best in Baltimore. The skaters and their families also enjoyed tasty treats, tunes, and giveaways all morning long.
The Great Snake Hunt with Herpetologist Matthew Benedict
Waterfront Partnership’s third Wildlife Workshop at Rash Field focused on why snakes are more friendly than fearsome!
Celebrating the Fourth on Baltimore’s Waterfront
We celebrated the Fourth of July on the waterfront with a live orchestra performance, dancing, food trucks, and more.
Insect Hotels Draw Important Pollinators to the Waterfront
Wildlife gardening, or intentionally creating sustainable environments for surrounding creatures, is an important part of caring for our waterfront parks and gardens. One engaging way of doing this is by creating bee and insect hotels! These sculptural elements offer an inviting place to stay for certain insects, including bees.
